The Critical Response Institute was developed out of a need in Alabama to train, support and resource first responders during times of critical incidents.  For many years, the attitude has been to “bottle it up,” “not talk about it,” and “it’s part of the job.”  However, what we have found is one day the bottle will explode and is very destructive to the First Responder, the department, and the community.  Our goal is to prevent this from happening through training, defusing,  debriefings and developing habits which allow the release of pent up stress.

The use of Critical Incident Stress Management components developed by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation aids us in our training and resourcing.
